Archibald Prize Virtual Tour

Art Gallery of New South Wales
The Art Gallery of New South Wales is a distinguished pillar of art and culture both nationally and internationally. With COVID-19 limiting public access, the Gallery’s annual Archibald Prize Exhibition and Young Archie Competition for 2020 was published as an online virtual tour.

The tour included all the 2020 artwork from the Archibald, Wynne, and Sulman Prizes, as well as the Young Archie Competition.

Users teleport through the exhibit with a click of their mouse and are able to select the artwork descriptions and listen to featured recordings that accompany selected artworks.

This immersive and interactive approach to sharing the exhibits during COVID-19 restrictions allowed the Art Gallery of New South Wales to share the entire exhibition with not just dedicated art-goers, but schoolteachers and students all across Australia.
