We combine realism and dramatic techniques, with interactive instructional design, to create VR and AR programs that replicate complex real-world situations. Through Start Beyond’s world-class proprietary platform, Oncio, a variety of different assets including 360° video & CG environments, plus 3D models and traditional 2D media are used to build these virtual and augmented reality training experiences.
Emotions create memories. Memories create knowledge
At Start Beyond we focus on creating an emotional connection between the user and the content; because if you make the user feel it, then they’ll remember it. And the memories created through a virtual experience, become knowledge that’s applied in the real world. As an active participant makes a visceral connection to the material in the learning simulation, it builds the user’s confidence and generates real-world knowledge without psychological or physical risk. It's this emotional connection, that makes our training so memorable.
With it's beginnings in Surry Hills in 2015, NSW, Start Beyond has expanded its offices to Melbourne, VIC and Brisbane, QLD. CEO, Angus Stevens, and CTO Jaeger Battersby, lead the team that has garnered industry awards and client accolades both locally and overseas. This is due to a unique combination of story-telling expertise, technical innovation and a client-first philosophy delivered by the dev and production teams headed up by Head of Platform, Isabella Povolny, and Head of Studio, Josef Heks.
We merge our clients’ subject matter expertise closely with our story-telling and instructional design experience and combine it with the flexibility of the Oncio platform, to deliver immersive learning solutions that meet our clients’ objectives, reduce training costs, generate revenue, and create knowledge that sticks. Our clients include Meta, US-based VR companies Strivr & SocialWise VR, along with various Australian government departments, universities and multinational companies, such as St John Ambulance, UTS, CommBank, Australia Post and Woolworths.
