RYCO came to Start Beyond with the concept of producing a captivating and educational immersive digital tour of their filter testing laboratory.

The Client:

RYCO is a leading global manufacturer of filters for the automotive industry, based in Melbourne, Victoria.

The Challenge:

As a company that prides themselves on manufacturing excellence in a highly competitive automative industry, RYCO approached Start Beyond to provide a virtual tour of their filter testing lab that is informative, engaging and educational. After all, this "virtual reality" tour of their testing laboratory would become an exclusive insight into what steps are taken in the testing stage to make RYCO a world leader in their field.

The Solution:

Powered by Start Beyond's Oncio AR & VR platform, a bespoke tour of RYCO's world class facilities take the user to see for themselves the fastidious testing measures RYCO enact in order to ensure filter production of the highest standard. The user simply puts on the PICO G3 headset and is immersed.

  • 3D animations & 360° Video
Start Beyond combined live action 360° video footage of the factory with 3D models of specialised testing equipment and machinery.
  • A Rich Understanding
This combination of computer generated (CG) graphics and live action footage gave the user a rich, immersive experience which not only reinforced RYCO's commitment to excellence when it comes to automotive filtration but also enabled RYCO to take their facility to the audience.
  • The 'Wow' Factor
RYCO has a diverse audience when it comes to who would take part in this virtual, interactive tour.  Not only would their many clients within the automotive parts industries engage in an immersive experience such as this, but it would also garner interest from commercial vehicle and driving enthusiasts worldwide. The interactive tour, captured on-site and produced in Start Beyond's virtual reality studios, provided a 'wow' factor that took the user behind the scenes, in both the wet and dry lab of the RYCO facility.

"RYCO engaged Start Beyond to build a virtual tour of our filter testing laboratory... it was imperative that this VR experience be both engaging as a behind-the-scenes experience, as well as an education tool, and the result has been a great success." - Vanessa Giron, Content Coordinator, RYCO.

The RYCO Factory Virtual Tour is accessible via in-house PICO G3 headsets for VR, as well as in 2D on mobile devices and desktop, giving RYCO the chance to take their facility worldwide.

The Result:

Here are the results for the client.

  • RYCO now offers an engaging behind the scenes tour, as well as an educational Virtual Reality experience.
  • The RYCO sales team can invite customers and clients into the facility (virtually), whilst reducing reliance on staff to provide face to face tours.
  • The RYCO VR tour attracts strong interest at events and activations.
  • Provides a fantastic insight into the RYCO brand and their process.
